IPL Before & After
Is IPL Right for Me?
An IPL photofacial is ideal for you if you have an uneven skin tone, acne scars, age spots, freckles, or fine wrinkles. If you’re seeking skin rejuvenation, this non-invasive treatment is highly recommended.
IPL may not be right for you if you have an active infection or skin condition. Pregnant women are also discouraged from undergoing IPL treatments. If you have a history of keloid scarring, light sensitivity, or skin cancer, you may not be a good candidate for this procedure.
A skin examination will be performed during your initial consultation to assess your skin tone and specific skin issues. Your medical history will be reviewed, including underlying conditions and current medications. You may be asked to discuss your skincare regimen and any recent treatments.
A personalized treatment plan will be developed to address your concerns, and you will be given instructions on how to prepare for your IPL photofacial procedure.
The Treatment Process
The IPL photofacial treatment begins with cleansing and sanitizing the target area. A numbing cream may be applied if the client is sensitive to pain. They will be asked to wear dark glasses to protect their eyes.
What is IPL Photofacial?
An intense-pulsed light (IPL) photofacial is a treatment that directs light energy to the skin to address a wide variety of skin concerns. Skin rejuvenation with IPL is a great option for those who are experiencing any of the following:
- Blotchy skin
- Sun damage
What Can I Expect from IPL?
IPL photofacials offer a gentler alternative to other laser skin rejuvenation treatments. Each treatment session usually takes about an hour to complete, after which patients can often go right back to their daily routine. Treatment with IPL is relatively comfortable; most patients describe the sensation as nothing more than a rubber band snapping against the skin. However, we can discuss topical numbing options with you prior to your treatment, if desired.
You will likely need multiple treatment sessions to get the results you want. Most patients get to enjoy optimal results after three to five sessions, each spaced about a month apart.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Because treatment with IPL is so gentle, any possible side effects are mild and will disappear quickly. Immediately after your treatment, you may experience some redness or swelling. However, these side effects will only last for a few days.
Cost of IPL Treatments
The cost of your IPL photofacial will depend on the number of treatment areas and their size. The overall price can also be impacted by the total number of sessions needed to achieve the best results.
