What is Microneedling?

This advanced skin care treatment utilizes the rejuvenating benefits of your own cells’ natural healing processes. During treatment, a specialized tool is used on the skin that contains a series of tiny microneedles on the tip. The microneedles work to create tiny micro-punctures in the dermis layer of skin. These tiny punctures activate the body’s natural healing response on a cellular level. It successfully activates the promotion of collagen production in the skin to the damaged treatment area. This effectively works to renew and restore the skin. Through your cells’ natural function, you can restore a vibrant and youthful appearance to your skin.

What Is Microneedling With PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma, or PRP, involves collecting a small amount of the patient’s own blood. It is then spun in order to collect the platelet-rich cells that are responsible for the body’s healing functions. When combining microneedling with PRP, microneedling is done first in order to create channels in the skin and to begin the restoration process. Then, the PRP blood can be applied topically, or injected, into the treatment area where the skin can more effectively absorb the platelet-rich blood for enhanced rejuvenating results.

What Are The Benefits?

There are many benefits that the microneedling and PRP treatment duo can provide including:

  • Reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and aging signs
  • Naturally hydrate the appearance of skin
  • Revive the appearance of the neck, face, and chest
  • Diminish the appearance of damaged and dull skin
  • Reduce the appearance of scars and skin imperfections
What Happens After The Microneedling Treatment?

Following the microneedling procedure, we often take advantage of the opportunity to use various rejuvenating solutions that will directly enter the dermis following creation of the tiny channels in the skin. One of these solutions is PRP or platelet-rich plasma. PRP is derived from the patient by a simple blood draw and spun down to extract the part of the blood containing the growth factors. Following creation of the micro-channels in the skin, these growth factors directly enter the dermis and cause immediate stimulation of the collagen making factory in the skin, ultimately leading to a tighter, more youthful bouncy and glowing skin. Another solution is tranexamic acid, a solution known to very effectively disperse pigmentation in the skin over a series of treatments.
